We’ll meet again
“Don’t say ‘goodbye’; say ‘au revoir’.” I haven’t a clue as to why anybody ever gives that advice, so I’ll say neither “goodbye” nor “au revoir.”

As Arnold so coarsely put it, “I’ll be back.” As Douglas more eloquently put it, “I shall return.”

Thanks. A haunting song–which, I guess, is why Stanley Kubrick used it to such chilling effect at the end of “The Shining.” Hasta la vista, Sidney.

Al, you are right. I remembered the song being at the end of Dr. Strangelove the minute you pointed it out. The song in The Shining was “Midnight With the Stars and You,” although “We’ll Meet Again” would have worked in that creepy scene. At least I associated “We’ll Meet Again” with Kubrick.
